Job Interviews Forum - Weird job situation?: So, I have recently just completed a job...

So, I have recently just completed a job interview, I felt it went really well. Almost like I was over qualified for the position, I had more to offer than they were expecting. I never knew the salary of the position, so I go into my job interview. Felt really well, asking me when I can start and everything. This company is a large multi-national company, however I'm debating if I have got the job or not, anyone like to share a similar experience or so? So the day after the job interview I receive a phone call saying the salary for this position is £....... Are you happy with this amount? Because it'll help make up our decision? I said yes I was happy with it and that was the end of the conversation. What would be your guess? Will I have to wait for a letter with the contract layed out? Or will I receive a phone call? Thanks
Maybe... I've been through that before where you think everything went well and they give you this BS...about how they're going to hire you then you never hear from them again a bunch of cowards.. This was posted 8 days ago So did you get the job?
No I havent gotten an offer yet. I did follow up with the hiring manager and he stated they can be moving forward pretty soon and that I am most definitely in high consideration. I should expect to hear from him or someone in hr very soon. That was almost 2 weeks ago so I'm thinking I may not have got the job. :(

Hey guys! so i did my second interview with the city. It was me and three other candidates there and all we had to do was a writing sample. They made us all sit in a room and had laptops prepared for us. There was a word file open with a scenario and a question at the end which we had to answer. I finished fairly fast and was the first one done while the other two were still writing. After i finished my interviewer took my outside and wanted me to meet the director but i didnt get the chance since he was busy and then she said i can go now and will hear back next week. Now my question is what should i expect to happen now? a lot of my colleagues are saying i pretty much got the job because it wasn't even really like a second interview all i did was a writing sample. Also there were 3 positions open and there were 3 people doing the writing sample which kind of shows that these people were also selected since they aren't the ones who were there for the first interview. What do you guys think?

I sent a follow up email to a company I interviewed for last week. I don't always do this, but I had a really good rapport with the hiring manager and just sent a very short thank you email to thank her for the interview/ consideration for the position. I wish I hadn't now, because she never responded and I feel now that it made me look desperate. I also now don't find her to be as nice or pleasant that she didn't bother to respond. I won't do it again. She said she'd be in touch before I left the interview that day and I wonder now if my email hindered my chances at that.

Yes, you should. Send a thank you note after the interview. If they mentioned a specific time frame, only follow up after that specific day. Good luck.

Always say "I actually like my job very much, and am not really looking to change". I saw this particular position and I could not pass up the opportunity to apply. I am not looking for a new job but I am very interested in this particular job and would consider leaving my current position for this unique opportunity"
Sometimes I leave an interview thinking I did well later to find out that even if I did do well I did not get the job. Sometimes I'm not too sure but I'll end up getting hired which is pretty cool but this time for sure I know that I bombed this interview it was so awkward. I answered all the questions right everything was so perfect I was getting along with the interviewer so perfectly and then the interviewer asked me a question in Spanish! I had no idea that the position required me to be bilingual . Are you going told her that I didn't want to waste anybody's time. They still kept asking me questions. I wanted to leave but I couldn't because they had even more questions! I felt so embarrassed. Usually I asked after the interview when do they call a person they are going to hire but I was so embarrassed that I pretty much knew that they are not going to hire me simply because I'm not bilingual. She says a lot of people come in and they speak Spanish. okay but wonder if I knew French and English will Lesco make me bilingual? My guess is it's illegal to say you better know Spanish too or we won't hire you
I'm Sorry for your troubles, and I want to give you my point of view about this. Us job seeker's are surely being discriminated against. But what do most politicians (nothing) do about anything? People need work to put food on the table, and most good employers who have jobs available understand that. Most normal employers don't care if you can speak Spanish or not. If your a good caring person a good employer, or professional will give you that job in a minute, and not try to create a problem or language barrier for you. Real Americans hire Americans! I don't think Employers, Politicians, or Judges should call themselves Americans if they don't hire one, or care about its people.

Hello all, I wonder if someone can give me some advice. I was asked this question after submitting my CV and cover letter to a company in the USA: "Do you have all of the necessary documents to legally work in the US?" To which I replied: "Thank you for your reply. I do not have a visa to work legally in the United States, which I would require as a British Citizen. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to contact me." That was nearly 10 days ago now and I have not heard anything from them since. No my questions is, should I move on and forget about it? Or should I follow up in some way? To give you a bit more information, I am very qualified for this position and fulfil all the criteria they are looking for as far as the job/person description goes. It is a tech job for which a PhD is required. Also my current employer is familiar with the CEO of this company so I know I can get a great reference. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!
O.k., so all of you who find this BEFORE taking it, pay close attention!! It is possible to ACE THESE! I just got 100% on Excel, and yesterday I got 91% on Word, both with this video...here's how. 1) you have to be at basic to intermediate level, or what I did won't really help you. 2) I'm a tactile learner, and I'm sure that is one of the reasons what I did really helped 3) here's what you do... a) set aside 2-3 hours to watch this question by question b) write each one down, step by step, include where each button and tab is located, and include diagrams of the bar if you need to; I even wrote little pics of certain buttons c) even if you are taking older versions of the exam, the questions themselves come up in order, and you can find them if your notes are explicit, so TAKE THE TEST SLOWLY, follow your notes carefully d) you can't really LEARN from the video, but you can refresh, practice, and get to know where all of your tabs and buttons are. Good luck!!
So, where's this video you're talking about???

I got hired at Lowe's last week Thursday. During this time I had my background check submitted along with my drug test. I was also given my pay while I signed the required documents. I was told by the HR to call her Tuesday (today) so I could see what time to come in for orientation Wednesday (tomorrow). I called this morning and she was unavailable, so I left a message. I still haven't heard back and I'm curious at to what to do? Should I try calling again tomorrow morning?

Hi, I am looking for Software Developer jobs, but since I could not find anything after searching for 3 months, I applied and started working as a part-time cashier in a retail store. Do I need to mention this during the interviews, because first of all, this is not related to the field in which I'm applying and I can resign from the part-time job (or change my hours to weekends) any time. I have an interview coming up with head of HR, so I'm thinking whether I should mention about the part-time job to them or not. Thanks

Hi, I had applied for a software developer job and I was interviewed on phone around 2 weeks back, and recently I went for the on-site interview. The interview seemed to have gone good in my opinion. We agree on almost everything that we discussed. The interviewer seemed very positive about my comments, and they did say things like "once you are here" and "when you start working" etc. After the interview, they gave me a tour of the office building. Then I met the HR coordinator who had been arranging the schedule with me. They discussed things like whether I need sponsorship etc. And then I was told that I will have an interview with the HR head by the end of this week (it's already scheduled). So, does this sound like a good interview? Are there chances that I might get the job? Can I get rejected by HR?

Job Interviews Forum - Anyone else tired of rude employers during interviews?: What bothers me is that before I can say...

What bothers me is that before I can say hello employers look at my resume and start blurting out false statements. I have a community college Business Management diploma, University certificate in property management, a first year physics certificate from college, wrote property guides and been an administrator for 17 years in security. Then I am told, "You don't have a diploma in Business!" Or "You can't drive!" Hence I took my car to the interview. Once in a life time skills walks in their office the perfect fit for the job and employers don't want it. They would love it if I was some uneducated refugee so they can abuse them and act like king. Most employers are screaming like babbies for a toy they do not want. They want the skills but not the person. Most employers have no clue from their head to a hole in the wall to their rear end.
